It’s predicted that a blizzard is going to come through New York City.\u00a0 The snow has begun to fall.\u00a0\u00a0 It’s so beautiful.<\/p>\n

\"Beginning<\/a>\"Marie's<\/a>\"Marie's<\/a> I haven’t left Bay Ridge in over a month.\u00a0 Between work and the preparations that needed to be made for the VSDC’s Nutcracker<\/a>, I’ve been anchored to my office.\u00a0 As a result,\u00a0 I am now nursing a major case of cabin fever.<\/p>\n

I thought I might have had enough of The Nutcracker for one year.\u00a0 I watched all of The Nutcrackers which aired on Ovation<\/a> and PBS this season.\u00a0 (I especially loved the Royal Ballet’s version.) \u00a0 I saw both of the VSDC performances last weekend and though I absolutely loved them, I wasn’t sure that I was up for seeing another.<\/p>\n

But then when I was serving supper last night, The Waltz of the Flowers came on the radio.\u00a0 I just wanted to leap out of my chair and start dancing.\u00a0\u00a0 Later in the evening, I heard the music for the Polichinelles dance.\u00a0\u00a0 Before the night was over, I was on my computer looking up American Ballet Theater’s<\/a> Nutcracker and finding out that Veronika Part<\/a>, whom I adore, is dancing tonight at BAM<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Yes, a blizzard is coming.\u00a0 But we’ll only have to walk fewer than four blocks to get to the theater.\u00a0 We can take the subway, which runs underground and should be functioning.\u00a0 According to the web site, the performance is happening.\u00a0 So we bought tickets and we’ll be up for an adventure tonight.<\/p>\n
