International Ballet Stars Team With Community Ballet Company
for Christmas Production in Brooklyn

On December 18th, 2011, world renowned ballet stars and principals of New York City Ballet, will be starring as the Sugar Plum Fairy and Her Cavalier in the Vicky Simegiatos Dance Company’s production of The Nutcracker, a full length classical ballet. In recent years, the VSDC has shared the stage with guest artists Maria Kowroski, Jenifer Ringer, Charles Askegard and Jared Angle.
Brooklyn families and theatre lovers will delight in this timeless ballet production, which will take place at the Richard Perry Theatre on the grounds of Poly Prep Country Day School in Bay Ridge. The Nutcracker remains as a classic and beautiful story about the joy of Christmas, the love of family and friends, and the great fun of lavish parties. But it resonates with everyone in that it reminds us of the wonder, mischief, dreams, and imagination that still reside within the child in each of us.
Given the lush and familiar Tchaikovsky score, the magnificent and humorous classical choreography, the thrill of witnessing the wonderful talent of our community’s young dancers, and the intimacy of the neighborhood theatre, the VSDCs production promises fabulous entertainment for children and theatre-goers of all ages.
